Spiritual Awakening and Mindfulness

I recently discovered there is a difference between Spiritual Awakening and Mindfulness.  This realization was so profound to me, that it changed the entire course of my intention to promulgate Mindfulness theory.  Understanding Mindfulness is challenging enough; discerning the difference between Spiritual Awakening and Mindfulness is even more challenging. I think this is best explained with an example.

We will start with the setting of visiting a new country. When we visit a country where we do not speak the language, we are not able to understand what is being said. We go to a coffee shop and have a seat. We are able to hear conversations at the tables around us, but we are not able to understand a word that is being said.

Let’s say you decided to learn and understand a few words. When someone tries to explain it to you, they may be able to use your native language for some of it but soon they will arrive at the word that cannot be translated. How will you gain an understanding of a word in another language that cannot be translated? The fact is, when we are in a new country, it almost feels like we are in a new realm. The culture is different, the language is different, the surroundings are different.

Once we have achieved some skill in Mindfulness practice, the “world” around us starts to change, much like the experience we have when we go to a new country.  Then, the ability to understand the difference between Mindfulness and Spiritual Awakening becomes easier.

It hopefully is becoming obvious that our destiny is to take on a practice of Mindfulness, in whatever form we can. I am ehre to help with that, though my musings and blogs. I hope you will stay tuned…

May you be safe, may you be happy and healthy, may you live with ease.

Thanks for tuning in…
